Michael Lozada is a video producer, who studied at Raritan Valley Community College and is planning to transfer to a four-year program this coming spring. Their goal is to help people, whether that be through film or by helping them make their own film, and for their films to reach as many people as possible. Born in Ecuador in 1998, they lived there for two years before moving to New Jersey. Their areas of expertise are lighting and storytelling.
STATEMENT
For the longest time I felt I did not belong anywhere. I felt lonely and hopeless, but film gave me an escape from my loneliness. Seeing the stories of characters who are just as lost as I feel has helped me feel less lonely by letting me know I am not alone, and that other people feel the way I do. I want to help other people through my films the way film has helped me, by sharing my own stories and helping others tell theirs. I want to take the pain of this world and transform it into ecstatic beauty through film by telling stories that show none of us are born to be alone and there is always hope that things will become better.
