BIO
Kit Frascella is an illustrator, filmmaker, and designer. She is creative and spends her time thinking about beautiful things and future goals. One obstacle to progress has been the subject of math. But she has worked very hard to improve herself to overcome her weaknesses. Kit is a skilled video editor. Her inspiration since a very young child has been the art of ballet. The disciplined teaching has shaped her approach to things in her life including art and film editing. Kit has a great ear for music making her keenly able to choreograph music to videos. When listening to songs, she visualizes the final concept which acts a guide to her creation. There are two events that have impacted her life. When in high school she made a video showing how her inspirations coincide with her art. The film was a success and won an award in the 2018 district film fest. The second event was when she recreated the iconic Nesmith costume for The Monkees concert in 2021. Previously she had been with the Monkees Facebook group for five years and created art featuring the 1960s band. At the concert she received recognition from the stage by both Micky Dolenz and her idol, Mike Nesmith. She is currently known within The Monkees group for her art, creativity, and passion. Her life goals detail her path becoming an artist and creator. Another goal is to teach film or rock music history to high school or college students. For the last few years Kit has studied at Raritan Valley Community College under her major of art and film. She now plans to transfer to Montclair State University in the fall of 2022. She currently resides in Northwest New Jersey.

STATEMENT

The Six words that describe my work are, Passionate, for the topics I love. Creative, for my art. Inspiring, for those who see my work. Inventive, for my imaginative ideas. Charming, and witty, to the people I meet. The reason I make films is because I enjoy creating interesting stories and showing the world through my eyes as a filmmaker. What inspires me to create media is my film knowledge background and my imagination. What got me interested in film was the exposure to old films and TV from my family at a young age, which soon made me curious about the history of movies. Video and film are not so different from painting, because both mediums show more than tell, about a subject. My target audience from my projects is mainly young Adults or Adults. What I want my audience to get from my work is to be educated on a subject. Mainly the culture of a certain decade. The emotions I want my audience to feel upon viewing my work is nostalgia value and appeal. How I incorporate this idea for those who did not grow up during this time, is by adding modernized songs or references against the background to an older subject. For example, a new song in the backdrop of a 1950s musical. Themes that appear in my work are. perseverance, optimism, and culture. My three future career goals are to start a small animation/film business and create movies or Tv shows. Teach film as a side job to educate younger generations on classic media. And possibly work at TCM, Rhino Entertainment, or Nickelodeon, to pitch my innovative ideas.
