Filmmaking wasn’t always the obvious route for Justin. Not going to college to pursue a degree in film until he was 23, Justin was no stranger to eking out a living; by that point already having experience working as an after school program coordinator, a gardener, landscaper, barista, customer service associate, retail worker, campus book-store clerk, as well as several other jobs.
It wasn’t until living with his grandfather, helping take care of him prior to his passing in 2018, and also being the guardian to his younger siblings, that he brought all together by spending time watching movies and television shows with them. It was a way for them to come together and leave their worries behind for an hour or two. Through these movie nights with his family, Justin realized if he could make a living doing all of these different, difficult jobs, then he might as well apply his work ethic to something that could make a positive difference in people’s lives.
STATEMENT
There’s an appreciation for the beauty in everyday life which is the single most important element in my filmmaking. All living things are equal, but are not treated equally; it is our job to correct these inequities. To cultivate a greater understanding of these inequities and present a brighter future for all is all I could hope to achieve through my filmmaking.

Helping bring the creative ideas of others to life so that people may enjoy, feel inspired by, and hopefully learn something from them is as important to me as bringing my own creative ideas to life so that people may do the same.
A driven work ethic, creativity, passion, and a caring, team-oriented approach to working with others is how I conduct myself on set. My genuine love for filmmaking in its many forms is what keeps me adventurous in my approach to learning as many elements of the industry as possible.
Films have the potential to show our world as we hope to see it, or hope it could one day be – and of course it has the same potential to show us all a world of our worst fears realized. How we utilize this tool and what we present to our audiences with it, have already had a greater impact on our society and world as a whole than many give proper credit to. If we use this tool for good, we could help create a better world for us all.
