STATEMENT
My goal as a filmmaker is to tell stories that excite me. Entertaining through the means of telling a story has always been my passion. An entertaining story to me is one that you can get lost in and feel as if you’re really there. In my short film Cry Of Fear I used lots of long takes that made the viewers feel like they are with the characters. Overall, I want to focus on being a director and tell stories that I am passionate about, like an adventure or thriller, while also extending my skills as a cinematographer.

I admire cinematography and its power to tell a story. I use movement whether it’s subtle or jarring to inflict emotions into the shot like fear or anxiety. A jarring shot like a fast dolly can be used to create an emotional response from the audience, while subtle movement can bring something to the audience’s attention like someone listening in on a conversation. This creates suspense that makes a scene more engaging. That’s why I am a cinematographer, it’s the most powerful storytelling tool, which is why I study it, to better the stories I am going to tell.
