BIO
Liam Waddleton is a filmmaker living in New Jersey, currently enrolled at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC). He is the Co-President of the Film Club, and President of his college’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society. He has worked on video productions with multiple RVCC departments. He is scheduled to receive his A.S. in Film/Digital Media Studies in May 2021.
He enjoys the many parts of filmmaking, especially screenwriting and directing. Once he finishes his A.S. he will continue his studies at a four-year university. He uses his skills as a writer and director to tell stories grounded in something audiences can relate to. He entertains others using varied stories equally balancing relatable and fantastic. He teaches others through his content, similar to 20th century artists combining social commentary, escapism, and entertainment.
Liam spends his spare time woodworking, longboarding, reading, and playing video games. In the future, he hopes to own an independent production agency to support the projects of aspiring film and digital media artists.
STATEMENT
When they finish consuming my content, I want to make sure my audience knows a bit more about themselves and the world around them. I educate others on the importance of information itself as well as other topics I feel are important for my audience to understand.
My narrative, factual, and promotional work all focus around that singular idea. The source of conflict in the narratives I construct all center around characters not knowing enough. The factual works I have done in the form of a documentary and research papers seek to inform my audience on a relevant topic. Additionally, the promotional videos I have worked on have had the central theme of information; they seek to inform uneducated individuals by creating safety and comfort. After all, that is what information is – security. Being well-informed makes you more alert and aware about the world around you.
