STATEMENT
All great media is rooted in suffering and wonder. They are stories so tragic and immersive you cannot remove them from your mind. To be human is to realize our potential for greatness and then fail to reach that potential. That’s why it’s not enough for a character to simply set a goal and achieve it effortlessly. They need to fail, as we fail. We empathize with their struggle, which makes their eventual success profound and resonant. We feel their triumph vicariously, and it gives us hope that we may succeed as well. That resonance is what I aspire to have in my work. I will write stories that last in people’s minds, remembered as boldly as those which inspired me to create in the first place, so that hopefully, I may one day write a story that will inspire others to create as well.
