BIO
If you ask Oshane Mitchell, what is your philosophy? he would say that in life is work hard, have the right attitude. Growing up in Jamaica, Oshane had trouble in school with learning. His parents were hard on him, and it affected his self-esteem; he was ashamed. After a while he realized that change had to start with himself, nobody could learn for him had to do it himself. He started to put in the effort and slowly things came around for him. He pledged to himself that he will always work hard and have the right attitude and that changed his whole life. One events that change Oshane’s life was the loss of one his best friend. He had his finals exams in the morning. When he woke up by his mother screaming saying, “Dem kill Orane” it felt like his heart dropped into the pit of his stomach, waking up to see one of his best friends lying dead on the street. Going to school with that in his head changed him. This inspired him to live his life with meaning. Life is precious not to be wasted. He thinks that death brings purpose to his life because if he were immortal then life would hold very little value. Shortly after that he migrating to the United States of America and joining the United States Army. He is currently pursuing an associate degree in Digital Media and Film Studies at the Raritan Valley Community College. He intends to transfer when he graduates, however, he has not decided which school to transfer to as that depends on where his military career takes him. His goals are to graduate college, create his own film studio and become a warrant officer in the United States Army.

When they can see themselves in my work it helps them to never forget it because they have an attachment to it. Whether it is music videos documentaries or short films I want my audience to be people of all ages and races. I make films to create and tell stories. All arts are language; whether it is dancing, drawing, poetry, painting, writing, filmmaking etc. and I us these medium to tell the message. I still tell stories through other mediums but as it relates to film and video it chose me. I got into video when I went with one my close friend, that does music on a video shoot with him, and I was intrigued by the process. I realized how much it cost him to shoot the video. I told him I was going to teach myself how to shoot. And the first music video I ever shot made it on BET and MTV TV network. The rest was history. The emotions, I want my audience to feel are sadness, joy, anger etc. it all depends on which video they are watching.
