BIO
Jenna Michell is a Digital Film and Media Studies major at Raritan Valley Community College who will be transferring to a soon to be determined University for the fall 2022 semester. Her main goal is to be able to pursue her passion for creating content for others and to one day be able to develop her own schedule doing what she loves regarding videography and traveling. Over time, Jenna has become an adaptable and spontaneous individual who has taken initiative to experience a bunch of “firsts” to jump out of her comfort zone to develop her character. From having a one-on-one with a producer where she built up her confidence to develop connections and gain reassurance on her path, to getting her first tattoo to serve as an outlet to express initial artistic interest and personal representation, Jenna is always learning more about herself. She works hard not only for herself but for her mother, who is the most influential person in her life. From homelessness to a house, Jenna commends her mother’s efforts and wants to prove to the world that hard work and balance in life are possible.
STATEMENT
Being born into a household filled with artists, my adapted desire to make art has led to me creating visual content as an outlet to express emotion and allow people to learn. I had consistently relied on drawing and photography until I expanded to videography and developed an instant connection with this art style. I have created videos ranging from professional interviews for doctors to music videos for artists, and all things in between. I enjoy having a range in my audience and being able to create an assortment of content for others to connect with and relate to as it allows me to have a variety that I seek in life and gain experience. Going forward with filmmaking and as I further explore my creativity, I am excited to develop content where audiences feel that my work has made an impact on them and that they have had something to resonate with. Whether this is achieved through my dream of making music videos or developing a TV series as an executive leader, I am excited to advance my career and passion in a modern and refreshing way to draw in an audience.
