BIO
Armani Reynoso is someone who finds value in others. His older brother is somebody who shaped the person he is today. He is the person Armani looks up to more than anyone, he is the one that showed him certain movies that he still loves today. Some even influenced Armani’s work with films like “Goodfellas” and “Paid in Full.” The deaths of people he loved and respected have shaped the person he is today. When his favorite athlete, Kobe Bryant, suddenly passed away, it showed Armani that anyone can go at any time. When that happened, he began to let go of grudges he held towards some and made sure to appreciate those he loved even more. Before the day of Armani’s cousin’s funeral, he had never lost anyone close to him before. He took it extremely hard. This was also the first funeral he had ever been to. It was a difficult time, but hearing people tell their stories about his cousin showed Armani that celebrating someone’s life is as important and maybe more important than grieving over their death. Armani is studying Digital Film at Raritan Valley Community College and planning on transferring in the spring of 2023. Armani wants to get a job where he loves what he’s doing, not solely because of financial reasons. He is planning to write a screenplay for a film based on his experiences in life. This project is primarily for himself so he can find peace within certain aspects of his life. If he were to share it, he’d make no changes, because this is the story he wants told, whether to himself or to others.
STATEMENT
My work can be touching to people going through hard times. I make films to provide an escape from things going on in life, letting my audience go into another world, if only for an hour or two. I chose film over other types of media because I’ve always liked telling stories. And I like being able to visualize the story I’m telling. I make different kinds of films at times, so it would be hard for me to single out a specific audience as targeted. One thing I want my audience to get from my work is a feeling that they relate to, something they emotionally connect to. I want my audience to have an understanding of the characters I have created for that specific story. The emotions I want my audience to feel are relative to the story I'm telling. I want them to sometimes feel sad, angry, anxious, or sometimes happy. One theme that often shows up in my films is the loss of a significant other. I want my audience to get from my work an understanding of what my mindset was when making that specific piece of media they’re viewing. My three top career goals are to be able to work in the film industry in any capacity, be able to create stories that resonate with people, and make a feature film one day.
